Housing information pack for people with learning disabilities

We have created an interactive easy o understand CD of 3 stages of Housing Information pack.
This CD holds information, advise and guidance for:

Those who want to improve and make changes to their home.
Those thinking about moving into a new home and getting ready.
Those who have a new home and things they will need for their new home.

Leicester Supporting People’s 5 year Strategy

Leicester Supporting People programme is about providing housing related support to people who need it.
This support helps people to live safely in the community.

Supporting People is a partnership programme which is based at Leicester City Council.

We have created 2 types of easy read strategy documents for Supporting People:

1. The Easy Read Strategy for people with learning Disabilities

2. Easy read for general public

Tenancy Agreement

We have created an easy to understand copy of Leicester City Council’s ‘Tenancy Agreement’ book.
You will need this book when you rent a home from Leicester City Council. This book tells you about what you and Leicester City Council agree to do when you rent a home.

Seeing Clearly CD

We have created an interactive CD, which gives information about going to have an eye test.

This Cd is easy to understand with photographs and video clips of having your eyes tested with a read aloud function.

The Cd, which was ‘highly commended’ by CSIP, is an excellent resource for people with learning disabilities, as well as people with disabilities, autism and who cannot read English.

The Cd promotes independence and inclusion for people who often are disadvantaged when it comes to accessing primary and secondary healthcare services.
